The garden is looking pretty good. The cucumber has wandered a bit more. There are little cucumbers on the vine, and this morning the bees were busy. Hopefully, there will be cucumbers to harvest soon. The tomato below is the first ripe San Marzano. It was picked tonight and went home with a good friend to [...] The harvest was light this week. The first squash planting was destroyed. I am working on a second planting. The lettuce is getting too bitter to eat. On the bright side, the tomatoes are increasing, and the carrots are holding steady. There are little cucumbers on the vine, hopefully they will ripen soon. The first Big [...] The month is about over. Here are some photos from this last week. The Big Beef with 23 tomatoes on it. One is finally showing a blush this morning. Maybe I’ll have a ripe one next week. I was hoping to have one before Memorial day, but it just won’t happen. The plant below is the Pomodoro. [...] While several cherry tomatoes have been harvested, last night was the first night I brought in a larger size tomato, a Cherokee Purple. I set it on the kitchen counter, and tonight did a ripeness test. There was some give, so I did a taste test! While on the small size, it was big on [...] And it is a Cherokee Purple. The Big Beef and the Tomosa are right behind it. This is the harvest for this week. We got some nice samples, and they are increasing. We had lots of romaine for salads. I was able to find some potatoes today. I had to rough up the dirt and the root system quite a bit. Hopefully, there will be more. All of the turnips got harvested. It is getting quite warm and they were not growing so much, so I pulled them all up. The white pepper is [...] This photo show what the garden looks like now. While it is officially still spring, the garden looks more like a summer garden with the tomatoes in, and the broccoli gone. There are plenty of lettuce and carrots, and even some leeks next to the pot. It is hard to see, but there are pepper [...] I was able to get a very nice harvest for the kitchen tonight. The peas are gone, and the strawberries are slowing, but the carrots are coming in. The tomatoes and peppers are starting to trickle in as well. This cucumber plant has started it’s journey.
