The Kholrabi bolted. The tops are edible as well as the cabbage like interior of the bottom globes. I’ll be harvesting soon. They sure look good. This is a close-up of the green pea tendril grabbing the string trellis. Here is a view of the carrots, peas, onions, turnips, kholrabi, and strawberries. The carrot seedlings below were planted on the 24th of January. It took a solid 3 and 1/2 weeks to get seedlings this size, and they are still tiny. I used one layer of burlap over the seedlings to help keep them moist and aid in germination. I believe I only had to water them [...] I took the photo inside because it was darn cold out today. Starting with the radishes on the bottom and going clockwise: mixed radishes, romaine (Paris Island Cos), Mixed Loose Leaf Lettuce (many varieties including Ashley and Black Seeded Simpson), two heads of Tom Thumb lettuce, Little Finger carrots (which look like massive thumbs), and [...] I harvested more than what is shown in the photo. I brought in almost 2 pounds of jalapeno peppers. Most of the veggies shown below were used in a salad for dinner tonight. I needed the salad after eating too much of the desserts I made for Thanksgiving. Today we had our [...] This fall/winter garden is peaking and this is the harvest for today. The carrots were a big surprise! They went from garden to table in about 20 minutes.
