Tomatoes and More

One of the Sungold’s ripened, and is now history.  It was delicious.  The Sungold easily lives up to its reputation.

The Big Beef is coming along.  If you look close, you will see there are actually 3.  As of tonight, there are 11 on this particular plant.

Early May Harvest

The strawberries and peas are all ripening at once.    A set-fruit count on the tomato plants totaled 96.  Most of those are cherry varieties, but the Big Beef and Cherokee Purple are making  strong showings.  A San Marzano also appeared.  I’ll try to get pics soon.  I also discovered several Lady Bug families and generations [...]

27 September - 3 October Journal

27 September – I was able to clear two rows in the summer garden.  I let the three green bell pepper plants which are still producing remain.  I mulched another path.  I am trying very hard, with all the mulching, to get ahead of the weeds.  Weeds seem to grow the best of all.
